After presentation of a new Heart of The Swarm trailer at BlizzCon 2011 , watching new Zerg/Protoss/Terran units , a lot of users became more and more interested in pre-ordering their copy of the game.

We are happy to announce , that pre-order is now available.

It is highly likely , that the game will be available for download, almost immediately after the official release , but most of us indeed like to hold the box with the disks , and shiny laminated cover , in our hands.

Recently, new material about Heart of The Swarm has appeared online , giving us more information,exciting screenshots and a hope for a newcoming game!

First of all – new planets were introduced, there are lots of previously unknown landscapes – icy planets,astonishing areas and the game’s new “command center”, with Kerrigan in the center.

More information about game internals will reveal us the Zerg hierarchy. It was always considered, that Zerg are a Hive-mind like creatures, but an inside story is revealed , and we discover some units, who rebel and become independent.

While we explore the world of evolution of Zerg units , and most important: Kerrigan.

Sarah Kerrigan becomes a hero character throughout the Heart of The Swarm campaign , following us during the missions. She receives some kind of points/bonuses, and evolves, gaining new skills. What and how – currently unknown, we will have to wait till the E3.

Unfortunately, no multi-player information was revealed.

Warning: Heart of the Swarm Spoiler alert!!

Apparently , “The Third Floor” (you will see their logo in the lower right part of the video) are working with Blizzard. It is not entirely clear what on, but they do seem like partners.

The short movie seems like pre-sketch ending of Heart of The Swarm, since part of it are drawn very poorly, the lips are not moving with the speech, and there are white-outs. But the sound and the sound effects are complete, and the ending is surprising.

It seems, that Sarah Kerrigan is alive, and is kept in some tanks with liquids by Arcturus Mengsk.

But when Queen of Blades (yes, another version of her) approaches Arcturus, in order to kill, he has some kind of a remote, which inflicts pain on his captured Sarah , and by some strange connection – Queen of Blades.

But with the help of Jim , Queen of Blades overwhelms him, and frees Zerg. Some more insinuations are implied, but are entirely unclear.

As usually, Blizzard denies any connection to this rumor.

Blizzard has shared information about the future of Starcraft 2 on the Blizzcon. Almost nothing about Heart of The Swarm, just about the new upcoming patches. But hey, there is still plenty of time, and we will get the information grain by grain.

Anyways, here is what is going to happen to Starcraft 2 soon:

General

1. More than 91 million ladder games were played since Starcraft 2 was released
2. Blizzard is planning to develop and release game maps. 4 of them were introduced at the BlizzCon
3. Heart of The Swarm will not hit the stores at 2011 (As we’ve already guessed, Heart of the Swarm release date is somewhere around 2012 – probably the beginning)

Starcraft 2 innovations

1. Private and general chat channels will be implemented till the end of 2010
2. Patch 1.2.0 will have a feature to track mouse coordinates
3. User hotkeys
4. Blizzard wants to implement sharing replay view option in the beginning of 2011 (January/February)
5. League changes
6. Character avatars will change with the rating
7. League and Ladder pages will become more detailed
8. Top gamers of each division will have special banners
9. New leagues – “Master” and “Grand Master” will be introduced
10. Master league – 1-2% top players from each region. Those players will have exclusive icons
11. Grand Master league – top 200 players from all the regions

Seasons

1. Seasonal ladder updates
2. When the season ends – your win:loss ratio will be erased, but the hidden one stays
3. To move yourself into new league in a new season , you will only have to play one game
4. All gamers can watch their achievements in previous seasons

1. Blizzard wants to introduce a special servers, where players can change, which patch they prefer
2. Popular replays rating
3. Detailed internet statistics
4. Blizzard wants to change the detalization of rating table , but it will probably be done in Heart of The Swarm expansion only
5. User Interface will be improved, and guides for maps created will be added
6. Special tools for newbies and professionals, for new maps creation
7. New book in Starcraft universe

We will skip the Diablo 3 BlizzCon news, since they are out of our interest. Of course, most of us will disappear for a few weeks, when it is out, but our prime game is Starcraft 2 , and most anticipated expansion : Heart Of The Swarm (It is a little to early to talk about the Legacy of the Void, right?

BlizzCon 2010 is going on now – October 22-23.
Live with Tenacious D , and virtual tickets, we also await the revelations about World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, Starcraft 2 (Heart of the Swarm news).
There will probably be some information about Diablo III as well

Costume contest, as always, will feature people dressed up as elves, Zerg and more – as rich variety, as people fantasy allows them.
We are anxiously waiting for it to end, and we will keep you updated about any news.
